TheFreeSite.com: Misc. Freebies
In this section, TheFreeSite.com offers a roundup of various miscellaneous free products and free services that didn't fit into any of our other categories. Please send us E-mail if you'd like to submit a freebie listing, or if you find dead or expired links. All listings on this site copyrighted by TheFreeSite.com.

  • GetATravelDeal.com
Looking to save money on your travels? This regularly updated site offers loads of advice, articles, tips and tricks for saving money when you travel. Topic categories include airfare, cruises, hotels, rental cars, and more.

  • FreeNapkin.com
The perfect site for our recessionary times, this is a unique Web recycling center where you can go to claim free items that others have discarded. Here, you'll find everything from free furniture to puppies to plants to electronics. There are local listings for all 50 states.

  • Talkster
This service lets you make free long distance phone calls. International calls are available for more than 30 countries. Conference calls can be made with up to five participants. Talkster is ad-supported and requires some legwork, but there are no catches.

  • The Mutopia Project
This site, run by volunteers, offers a big collection of free sheet music that you can output on your printer. Artists include Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, and more. The site includes a search engine that lets you browse by artist, or by instrument.

  • MySpaceHippo.com
This site offers lots of free resources to customize your MySpace profile. Here, you'll find free graphics, glitter images, layouts, comments, themes, games, and other enhancements.

  • TradePub.com
This site offers a directory of over 300 trade magazine subscription offers that are "free to professionals who qualify." Note: many of the offers have international availability, but most are U.S. only.

  • Free land offer
Follow the instructions at this site, OwnAPieceOfAmerica.com, to claim a free (one-square-inch) land parcel. Land is available in all 50 states.

  • FreezePage
This unique new free service lets you save (or "freeze") Web pages for later access (which you can share with friends and colleagues). Each page you save here has the time and address stamped on it.

  • TextGrams
This free service converts your text message to an artificial voice, which reads your message to your cell phone recipient. The service offers a variety of synthetic voices to choose from.

  • BeggarsCanBeChoosers.com
This isn't really a "freebie;" it's the blog of TheFreeSite.com's creator, Marc McDonald. Although this political commentary blog leans progressive, it mainly focuses on issues that the U.S. mainstream press neglects to cover. If you'd like to set up your own blog, check out TheFreeSite.com's roundup of the Web's top free blog services.

  • Free white paper downloads
At this site, you'll find a directory of hundreds of free business, computer, engineering and trade white papers, downloads and podcasts that are "free to professionals who qualify." Topics include management, marketing, operations, sales, and technology. Note: many of the offers have international availability, but most are U.S. only.

  • GoalSetting1.com
Do you have goals that you'd like to accomplish? At this new "interactive goal-setting site," you can share your goals with an online community, as well as get support and share advice with other goal setters.

  • Lulu
Looking to publish your own book? This is the place to go. Lulu lets you easily convert your manuscript into a printed book and get it listed for sale on online retailers like Amazon. The service is free (Lulu only takes a cut if and when you sell your work). You also retain all rights to your work.

  • BugMeNot.com
These days, more and more sites (such as NYTimes.com) pester you to register before you can access their content. Even more annoyingly, the registration process often requires you to divulge personal info. A handy free service, BugMeNot.com, lets you easily bypass mandatory registration at nearly 100,000 sites.

  • Free homework help
Need help with your school homework? This free service lets you post questions in any one of hundreds of subject categories and have them answered by tutors. Although the basic service is free, there's also an optional pay service that's aimed at those who have particularly complex questions, or are on a tight deadline.
