I just wanted to thank everyone who wrote in this week, offering me
words of encouragement for my new "job." (Last week, as you recall, I
mentioned that I was quitting the day job to focus on The Free Site
full-time).
Many of you who wrote in mentioned that you wish you could do as I've
done and quit your day job to work on something you enjoy
doing. I say: go for it!
Setting up a successful Web site (and earning a living from it) is
definitely no piece of cake. But believe me, if I can do it, anyone
can! The beauty of the Web is that, unlike traditional "brick and
mortar" businesses, you have very little in the way of costs.
With all the cool, free Webmaster-oriented services out there (many
of which we list on The Free Site), just about anyone can build a
successful site, if they put in the effort.
One thing I'd like to ask of readers this week. Have you come across
any good free product sample offerings lately? If so, please drop me
a note. Good, valid free product sample offerings are actually few
and far between on the Web. (And the best ones rarely last very long,
as the providers find themselves overwhelmed with requests).
