Greetings, everyone! I hope you all had a great week!
One of the Web's most high-profile freebies in recent months has been
Free-PC's eye-catching offer of a free Compaq computer at
http://www.free-pc.com.

It turns out this offer has a few catches in "the fine print." For a
start, the offer is practically like a contest, in that very few
applicants will ever actually get a PC.
Many who apply for this computer won't be eligible. It appears that
Free-PC has a certain user in mind. Namely, they're going after
affluent users who're more likely to buy the products that this
computer constantly displays ads for.

We've had a number of complaints from visitors who did qualify for
the PC, but who didn't like Free-PC's credit card requirement.
(Namely that they reserve the right to charge you if you don't use
the computer in accordance with their rules).
Bottom line: we recommend you apply for this PC only if you're really
desperate and you don't mind giving away loads of your private
information in their intrusive survey.
