One of TheFreeSite.com's visitors, and a subscriber to our newsletter, Sharon, said she spotted the Free-PC.com offer in our newsletter some time back. She applied for it and was one of the lucky initial 10,000 who were selected to receive a new computer (from the 1.2 million who applied for the offer). She dropped us a message recently to report she had received her free computer and we responded and asked her to share her experience with The Free Site's visitors. Her account follows: ``I applied for a free PC at the Web site http://www.free-pc.com (which I got from The Free Site Newsletter,) because I was using a real dinosaur of a computer that I bought at a pawn shop. I am a single mother of 3 with a very "limited" income, so buying a new computer was out of the question. Two months had passed when I received an E-mail telling me that I had been accepted to receive a free PC, all I had to do was go to a particular Web site and confirm. I was very skeptical that I actually would receive the free PC especially since you are required to have a major credit card (just in case you damage the computer or don't fulfill the 10 hours a month requirement). All I have is a Visa debit card. In about a week I received another E-mail congratulating me on my free PC. They included a password to use to get hooked up. A couple of weeks later my free PC was delivered to my door! It was a breeze to hook up. It comes ready to use their Internet access (which is free also). I installed AOL 4.0 with just a click of a button. The computer screen does have ads that run along the right side and bottom so your work space is smaller, but that is a small price to pay for a free PC with free Internet access! (after you fulfill their requirement you can uninstall the advertising). The only drawback so far is that now my family is CONSTANTLY online...and I have only one phone line...hmmmm...maybe TheFreeSite.com could find an offer for a free phone line! I do love my new computer...I suggest that everyone apply for one!!'' Note: we have also received some feedback from less-than-happy users of Free-PC.com's offer. Click here to read an example. |
