 Diamond Life GuestBook Service - An impressive service that offers free guestbooks for your personal site or company home page. Your guestbook here is fully customizable. You can add backgrounds, music, change colors, etc. You can even add customized questions that you'd like your visitors to answer. Easy to set up: no knowledge of HTML is required. Newly added features include an autoresponder, a language filter, E-mail notification and E-mail service.
 Phaistos Guestbooks - Since we first began listing it, Phaistos Guestbooks has constantly evolved and improved to emerge as one of the top free guestbook servers on the Web. Phaistos now has an extensive administrative section that offers tons of ways to customize your guestbook's appearance, fields and functions. There's also a template collection, so you can easily have the guestbook match the look of your home page. You can modify your guestbook's preferences, remove entries, send an automatic E-mail to visitors, and more. View an example here.
- GuestBook.com - A solid, new customizable free guestbook service that features loads of options and is easy to set up. GuestBook.com allows you to add personal introductory messages; customize five entry fields; make your guestbook public or private; and even send a custom auto-response message to guests who sign your book. There's also a nice filtering feature, that lets you block profanity.
 Tealnet.com Guestbooks - Here's a fast-growing free guestbook service that we highly recommend. Just fill in your information and this service will generate an HTML page for you. Then, save the HTML file to your server and you're all set. You can also download your own maintenance form, so you may choose which entries you'd like to keep or delete. You also have the option of having your visitors (and/or yourself) receive an E-mail after your guestbook has been signed. There is also a helpful "profanity checking" feature, and you may edit your guestbook online, as well. Tech support here is very helpful, a refreshing change of pace for this sort of service. Click here to view an example of this guestbook. A new feature here offers you stats on your guestbook (number of visitors, number of entries and the date & time a visitor last viewed your guestbook.
- Dreambook Guestbook - This free service lets you completely customize your guestbook to match your site. In "normal editing mode," you can select from a variety of templates. If you switch into "advanced mode," you can edit the HTML directly to make your own custom forms. You decide what fields appear in your guestbook, and how they are arranged. You can even ask your visitors questions and create complex questionaires. Visitors have reported tech problems lately, such as images appearing as broken links on guestbook entries. Tech support is difficult to get here, our visitors report.
- TheGuestbook.com - This is a free guestbook service, which is administered in Sweden (but hosted in the U.S.). Offers many features and is highly configurable. It's supported by advertising (a banner is placed at the top of each guestbook). View an example here. We've had a few complaints that this service has been down occasionally lately.
- 1-2-3 WebTools - This site offers free personal guestbooks that can be customized with your own colors, logos, text and background images.
Easy to set up. Click here to see an example. They promise a free message board service soon. This service has encountered some problems lately. Some visitors have reported entries unexpectedly deleted and error messages when they try to access their guestbooks.
- BeSeen.com free guestbooks - This is a good, up-and-coming free guestbook server. Easy to set up and you can customize the way it looks. Note: this service is not available for porn-related sites. Here's an example of their service.
- GuestWorld - Now a part of the Lycos empire, GuestWorld is far the largest free guestbook server, with over 2 million users. Just sign up and they'll E-mail the coding to cut & paste onto your page and you're ready to go. GuestWorld (formerly called LPage) has added a number of nifty new features to their service, such as visitors' stats and a form that lets you automatically E-mail everyone who's signed your guestbook. There's also an extensive control panel that offers many features, such as message filtering, profanity checking, etc. Besides English, GuestWorld is also offered in German, Italian and Swedish. Here's an example.
- A normally reliable service, GuestWorld has been plagued by outages, sometimes lasting several hours, from time to time over the past few months.
- Note: you're limited to 250 entries in your guestbook here. If you exceed that limit, older entries will be deleted (although you can save your entries as a database file to your hard drive at any time).
- Guestpage.com - This guestbook has several specialties that others don't: it can determine whether the message of the guests contains bad language or not; when a guest signs your guestbook, the program will automatically E-mail to you and the guest at the same time; this guestbook can calculate how many message you have in your guestbook; you can edit or delete your message if you don't like what guests wrote on your guestbook. Over 20 different graphics layouts available. Here's an example.
- Web Diner Guestbook Templates - Add some style to your site's guestbook with the cool templates offered here. Lots of neat designs. Usage requires a linkback. Their guestbooks require a "mailto:" form to receive responses from your visitors. Go here for information on "mailto:" forms.
